How do you do password recovery and forensic data recovery? First of all, you need to know how to set strong passwords. Following are the list of items which you need to take note of when setting up your password:-

  To create a strong password you need to have the following

• Upper case
• Lower case
• Numeric
• Special characters
• Password should have at least 8 characters

4. Offline NT Password and Registry Editor:- This tool erases your old forgotten admin password instead of recovering it. You also boot this tool from the CD and then using it's functions in the CD, erase the password.
5. LCP:- This is another free tool, LCP is for the advanced users.
6. John the Ripper:- This is one popular password recovery tool, which many are already using it to recover Windows passwords. But in order to be able to crack or recover the password. You need to buy the wordlist.
7. Last by not least. You do not need to use password recovery tools if you create your own Password Reset Disks
